A Tool to Quit Smoking Has Some Unlikely Critics

E-Cigarettes FDA harm reduction

This New York Times article gives a pretty good account of the efforts of the FDA and several other health organizations to slow the adoption of E-Cigarettes as a safer, smoke-free alternative to cigarettes.  There is a philosophical difference between E-Cig critics, who are promoting "abstinence-only" type cigarette usage reduction, and vaping proponents, who argue for the harm reduction that results from smokers switching to smoke-free nicotine delivery devices.  It is interesting that the FDA's argument against the trace amounts of chemicals found in E-Cigarette vapor also applies to FDA-approved products like nicotine gum and patches.
